Art Weiner was a
great two-way end
in the Justice Era
(1946-49).

The first game was played in 1888 on a 110-yard field inside a horseracing track on the State Fairgrounds. A touchdown was worth four points, a conversion earned two points, and a field goal, which was drop-kicked, was worth five points. Admission was 25 cents for adults.

Today Carolina plays in a state-of-the-art stadium in front of 60,000 fans, and usually many times that number are watching on television. A ticket costs 100 times what it did in 1888, but one thing remains the same - the love we all feel for the Tar Heels, the University of North Carolina and the town of Chapel Hill.
