Jan. 25, 2000
Wednesday's Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball game between the University of North Carolina and the University of Maryland has been postponed until Thursday night, Jan. 27.
The postponement was made after officials from the two schools discussed the situation with ACC officials.
The game will be played at 7 p.m. at the Dean E. Smith Center. ESPN will televise the contest.
The game was to have been played Wednesday night at 7 p.m., but almost two feet of snow in Orange County forced the postponement.
This is the first UNC men's basketball game to be postponed since January 1991 when the Persian Gulf War broke out the night NC State was scheduled to play in Chapel Hill. The game was postponed until February when the two schools played on consecutive evenings.
