Midnight with Matt and the Tar Heels

Head Coach Matt Doherty's first Carolina basketball practice will begin at midnight on the evening of Friday, October 13, at "Midnight with Matt and the Tar Heels." The practice is at Carmichael Auditorium. Admission is free and all seating is first-come, first-served.
The 2000-2001 Tar Heels will be introduced and conduct a series of drills before a brief intrasquad scrimmage.
Prior to midnight, Coach Doherty and his staff will play against the student champions of the campus 3-on-3 tournament. Coach Doherty will also compete against a student in a three-point field goal shooting contest.
Plenty of parking is available at the Bell Tower Lot on Raleigh Road (Highway 54), the Ramshead Lot on Ridge Road and the Highway 54 Lot near the intersection of Highway 54 and Country Club Road.
The UNC volleyball team competes earlier that evening at 7:30 p.m. at Carmichael Auditorium against Wake Forest. Admission is free.
Fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the following day's Carolina-NC State football game and to the October 16th NBA exhibition basketball game between Vince Carter's Toronto Raptors and Larry Brown/George Lynch's Philadelphia 76ers.
Student contests will also be held for special prize packages.
The first 500 non-students will also be given tickets to one of Carolina's preseason exhibition games.
Doors to the arena will open at 6:30 p.m.
