Forte Named Preseason All-America

University of North Carolina sophomore guard Joseph Forte was named to the preseason All-America team by national basketball magazine Street and Smith's.
Forte was earlier named first-team preseason All-America by ESPN's Dick Vitale. Joining Forte as Street and Smith's first-team All-Americas are Duke senior forward Shane Battier, Notre Dame senior center Troy Murphy, Stanford sophomore guard Casey Jacobsen and Arkansas sophomore forward Joe Johnson.
Forte led the Tar Heels in scoring last year with 16.7 points per game. The ACC Rookie of the Year was named the MVP of the NCAA South Regional after he scored 28 points to lead the Tar Heels past Tulsa to gain a berth in the Final Four.
