UNC Receives No. 8 Seed In NCAA Tournament

"We are excited to be selected to this year's NCAA Tournament. That's the goal of every team in the country when they start the season and we're proud to have accomplished that. I hope we can bounce back from our disappointing loss in the ACC Tournament. I am glad the NCAA Committee rewarded us for playing a challenging out of conference schedule. I was afraid I may have overscheduled by playing what I believe is the most difficult non-conference schedule we have ever played.
I know Missouri is an outstanding team and will be well coached by Quin Snyder and his staff.
I am surprised and disappointed Virginia was not invited to the Tournament. Pete Gillen has done a great job rebuilding the program.
Our players were excited when they saw the announcement. I know they are not satisfied with our record and look forward to competing in the NCAA Tournament."
