Tar Heel Golfer Max Harris Named To All-ACC Team

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina senior Max Harris, from Worthing, England, has been selected to this year's All-Atlantic Coast Conference team. This is the third consecutive year that Harris has received this honor.
Harris captured the championship at The Ridges Intercollegiate last fall, the second collegiate individual title of his collegiate career. Harris has posted six top 10 and seven top 20 finishes this year and boasts a 71.35 scoring average for the year. Harris was selected third-team All-America in 1999 and was chosen second-team All-America in '98.
Joining Harris on this year's 13-man squad are John Engler, Lucas Glover, Jonathan Byrd and D.J. Trahan of Clemson, Matt Kuchar and Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech, Carl Pettersson and Chris Mundorf of N.C. State, Keith Unikel of Maryland, James Driscoll of Virginia, Matt Krauss of Duke and Brent Wanner of Wake Forest. Georgia Tech's Molder, this year's ACC champion, was selected as the ACC Player of the Year for the second consecutive year while Clemson's Trahan was honored as the ACC Rookie of the Year. N.C. State's Richard Sykes was tabbed the ACC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career.
The Tar Heels return to action next week when they will play in the NCAA East Regional May 18-20 at Glenmaura National Country Club in Scranton, Pa.
