Ryan Earey Drafted By San Diego In The 6th Round

Ryan Earey, Carolina's most versatile player this past season, has been chosen in the 6th round as the 169th overall pick by the San Diego Padres.
Earey, a 6-4, 210-pounder from Greensboro, N.C., played both pitcher and first baseman last year. The righthanded hitter batted .317 with 67 RBI while leading UNC with 14 home runs.
Earey was 4-3 on the mound in 23 appearances with two saves. Earey's ERA for the season was 3.92.
