Tar Heels Open Hoops Season With Midnight Practice

The Carolina men's basketball team opened the doors on the 2001-02 season late Saturday night at Carmichael Auditorium with "Midnight with the Tar Heels."
The first official practice of the season featured plenty for fans to see, including the introduction of the UNC's women's team, a four-on-four game between the coaching staff and students, a three-point contest between Coach Doherty and a student and a full-court intrasquad scrimmage.
ESPN's Stuart Scott served as the emcee for the event.
