This Week's Featured Games:
Milwaukee at Los Angeles Lakers (Tuesday, Nov. 27, 10:30 p.m., TBS, FSW1): This match-up will showcase the two best winning percentages in the league. Milwaukee, at 9-1 (.900) has the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Lakers, at 12-1 (.923) have the best record in all of basketball. Many feel these two teams could meet later this year in the NBA Finals. Former Tar Heel Rick Fox is a starter for the two-time defending World Champion Lakers.
Washington at Philadelphia (Wednesday, Nov. 28, 8:00 p.m., TNT, TSN, CSN): Michael Jordan will face the defending Eastern Conference Champion 76ers when Washington travels to the First Union Center. The Sixers have won six consecutive meetings against Washington and have not lost to the Wizards in over two years. Allen Iverson, the 2000-01 NBA MVP, is just 1-6 in his career against the five-time MVP and former Tar Heel Jordan. Jordan is currently averaging 26.0 ppg, comparatively, Iverson is putting up 25.8 ppg. The Wizards are only 3-9 (sixth, Atlantic Division), but one of their wins was a 90-76 defeat of the Sixers in Washington on Nov. 3 when Iverson was out recovering from elbow surgery. The Sixers are 7-6 (second, Atlantic Division), 7-1 since the return of Iverson.
Orlando at Washington (Saturday, Dec. 1, 6:30 p.m., NBC): Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill and the Orlando Magic will travel to the MCI Center to take on Wizards in an Atlantic Division showdown. The third place Magic (7-7) is one of the East's top teams and will be looking for respect in this nationally televised game. This rare early-season NBC telecast can be attributed to the immense excitement surrounding the return of Wizards forward Michael Jordan. Orlando's Tracy McGrady is seventh in the NBA in points per game (24.9). Many have speculated that McGrady may be one of the strongest candidates for NBA Most Valuable Player, an award Michael Jordan would love to reclaim himself.
