Carolina Gymnastics Heads to Raleigh for Tri-Meet

CHAPEL HILL, NC--The University of North Carolina gymnastic team will head to Raleigh Saturday, Feb. 16 to compete against 28th ranked NC State, Air Force and Radford.
Carolina goes into the meet ranked 40th in the nation with a 5-5 record. The Tar Heels beat William & Mary last weekend at the Hearts Invitational in Raleigh while losing to NC State, Iowa and Kent State.
At the Hearts Invitational, Senior Brooke Wilson placed third in the all-around and second on floor exercise. On Feb. 3, Wilson scored the first a perfect 10 in Carolina gymnastics history at the Governors Cup.
Junior Lisa Companioni performed well in the Hearts Invitational, placing sixth on vault. At the Governor's Cup, Campanioni scored a personal best 38.700 in the all-round. Freshman Maddy Curley placed seventh on floor exercise at Hearts Invitational and scored personal bests on parallel bars (9.750), balance beam (9.850) and floor exercise (9.875) at the Governor's Cup Curley.
Results will be available on TarHeelBlue.com Saturday evening. The Tar Heels next meet is home at Carmichael Auditorium on Friday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.
