Baseball Falls 11-1 to Auburn at Coca-Cola Classic

MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama and Auburn won their first two games in the Coca-Cola Classic at Stanky Field to set up a championship showdown at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Hank Aaron Stadium. North Carolina and Minnesota will face each other at 11 a.m. at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Auburn righthander Levale Speigner pitched a complete game to lead the Tigers to an 11-1 win called after seven innings due to the 10-run, mercy rule.
Speigner (3-0) pitched all seven innings and gave up one run off four hits, striking out eight and walking two. The Tigers (9-0) scored two runs each in the first and second innings and scored four in the third to build their lead.
Javon Moran led the Tiger hitters with two hits and three RBIs. Scott Schade added to the attack with two RBIs. Auburn hit four doubles in the game.
Scott Senatore (0-1) took the loss for the Tar Heels (4-2). He pitched the first 1 2/3 innings of the game, allowing four runs, all earned, off four hits. No Tar Heel hitter had two hits in the game, and Ryan Blake drove in the Tar Heels lone run.
