The Tar Heel women's gymnastics team finished first in the quad-meet on Saturday afternoon in the fifth annual Governor's Cup. The event also marked the sixth Wachovia Challenge attendance event of the 2000-2001 season. Senior Beth Wilson led the way for the Tar Heels, finishing tied for second in the all-around and breaking the school record on the balance beam with a perfect score of 10.000.

The event was a success as 1,051 fans attended the meet held at Carmichael Auditorium, easily surpassing the goal of 150. Wachovia would like to thank all the fans who came out to support the Tar Heels.
