At halftime of the men's basketball game versus Georgia Tech on Saturday, Wachovia sponsored "The Wachovia Bank Shot Tuition Contest," won by senior Brad Barrett.

Three former Tar Heels, Sylvia Crawley, Tracey Williams, and Sherry Edwards, each attempted a free throw worth $500 each. Crawley, a member of the WNBA's Portland Fire, and Williams are both current assistants of the women's basketball team. Each woman made her shot to award Barrett $1,500 toward his tuition at UNC. Wachovia also donated $1,500 to the General Scholarship Fund for Women's Athletics.
