CHAPEL HILL, NC - North Carolina Senior Brooke Wilson has been named Co-East Atlantic Gymnast League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week. Wilson led the Tar Heels to victory (194.45) in their first home meet of the 2001 season. Wilson placed first on balance beam scoring a perfect 10.0. Wilson's 10.0 on beam was Carolina's first perfect ten in school history as well as EAGL's first of the season. Wilson placed fifth in vault (9.625) and sixth on parallel bars (9.80) to tie for second in the all-around with a score of 39.05.

Co-winner of the 2000 EAGL Gymnast of the Year Award, Wilson has now received the EAGL Gymnast of the Week six times during her four years at UNC. Her most recent selection was the week of January 16th. Wilson holds UNC school records on bars (9.925), beam (10.0), floor (9.975) and all-around (39.425). Wilson's perfect score replaces the old school balance beam record of 9.950, which Wilson set during the 1999 season.
