UNC Coach Matt Doherty met with the media following Sunday's 95-81 loss to Duke. Here is some of what he had to say.
"It was a tough game. I thought a key stretch was the beginning of the second half. We seemed a little flat, and they seemed quicker to the ball and quicker down the floor. Then they got that lead, and it's tough to play catch up against them regardless of who you have in the game. We had to go to a smaller lineup, so we couldn't take advantage of our size."
"I though they did a good job against our zone and against our (man to man.) They shot the ball extremely well."
"The way they played broke our rhythm a little bit."
"You've got to them a lot of credit. They came into a tough situation, a man down. I though they played extremely well."
"I don't think that we ever got into a rhythm offensively."
"They were very good today, and we weren't real sharp."
"We have to move on, quickly. It won't do us any good to get mad. We had a heck of a regular season. Would we like to be solely in first place? Yeah. But all our goals from the beginning of the season are intact. There were five goals. To get better today and to win the next game, but the three big ones were win the regular season, win the ACC Tournament and win the national championship. And we're still in position to do that."
