The Carolina gymnastics team finished fifth (193.325) of eight division I teams in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League Championships on March 24 in the Dean E. Smith Center. Senior Brooke Wilson placed fist on beam with a 9.950 to tie her own Championship record. Junior Lisa Companioni placed second on beam with a person best of 9.900. West Virginia won the EAGL with a 196.375 setting an EAGL Championship record, Maryland placed second with a 195.875 and Towson placed third with a 194.600.
