Women's Soccer Plays Home Opener Friday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The top-ranked North Carolina women's soccer team will opens its home campaign Friday when the Tar Heels play host to the Carolina Nike Classic at Fetzer Field. Games in the classic will be played Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
On Friday, Duke (1-1) will meet eighth-ranked Penn State (1-1) at 5 p.m. followed by UNC's home opener against Charlotte (0-0-1) at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, Duke will meet Charlotte at 1 p.m. followed by #1 UNC vs. #8 Penn State in the weekend's premier game at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children. UNC faculty, staff and students are admitted free with their UNC One Cards.
The Tar Heels are 1-0 on the season having won their opener at #17 Texas 1-0 last Friday. UNC will play these two games this weekend minus two starters--midfielder Jena Kluegel and defender Catherine Reddick --who are currently in a training camp with the U.S. National Team in Chicago.
