UNC Softball To Host Fall Clinics

Hitting and bunting clinics will be directed by North Carolina head coach Donna J. Papa and assistant coach Noleana Woodard, along with assistant coach Connie F. Miner and the UNC softball players.
Pitching clinics will be directed by North Carolina assistant coach Connie F. Miner and the Tar Heel pitching staff.
Catching clinics will be led by Natalie Anter, a former All-ACC and All-Region catcher at UNC, and the current Carolina catchers

Nov. 23: Hitting
Session 1: Middle school session (age 10 through grade 8)
9 a.m. to noon
Session II: High school session (grades 9-12)
1 to 4 p.m.
Cost is $40 per session
- Informative lectures
- Hitting instruction and hands-on drills for all skill levels
- Both sessions will receive the same instructional content. Please note age-specific sessions
- Bring your bat and batting gloves
Nov. 24: Pitching and catching
Pitching sessions
9 a.m. to noon - Pitching
Review of fundamentals and mechanics of the windmill pitch, drills to increase your speed, and troubleshooting techniques
1 to 4 p.m. - Drop/Change
The afternoon session will focus on two pitches: change-up and drop ball. Instruction for development of these pitches will be broken down into specific drills you can practice at home
Cost is $45 per pitching session or $80 for both
Catching session
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Catching techniques
Review of fundamentals of receiving throws, blocking, throwing to bases, bunt coverage, receiving pitches, pop-ups, tag plays, framing, giving signals, pick-offs and much more.
Cost is $80 for the full session

Dec. 14: Get Started Early
Sessions for ages 5-13 (participants must be 8th grade or below)
Morning sessions focus on hitting, afternoon sessions focus on pitching and catching. Each session lasts one hour
Cost is $25 for the morning hitting session, $30 for the afternoon catching session
- Four to six participants in a group
- Register as a group or individual
Dec. 15: Get Started Early
Sessions for ages 5-13 (participants must be 8th grade or below)
Morning sessions will focus on defensive skills (fielding, throwing, pitching, catching, diving, positional play, and more)
Afternoon sessions will focus on offensive skills (hitting, bunting, slapping, sliding, baserunning, and more)
Cost is $40 for each session or $70 for both
- Four to six participants in a group
- Register as a group or individual
- Each session lasts one hour
More information on the clinics:
- Each player is encouraged to bring her own bat and glove. Catchers should bring catching gear
- Lunch is not provided for any session. Players staying for both session should bring lunch.
- Players must bring indoor and outdoor shoes
- All registration will be held at the UNC Softball Complex. You will receive directions with your confirmation.
- Inclement weather could force clinics to be held indoors, thus attendance is limited
