Kneipper Named ACC Co-Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina's Ryan Kneipper and Maryland's Scott Buete earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week honors after leading the Terrapins and Tar Heels this past week, the ACC announced on Monday evening.
Kneipper, a senior forward recorded three goals and one assist as the Tar Heels defeated George Mason 2-0 and tied No. 2 Wake Forest 2-2. Against the Deacs, the Dallas, Texas native had a part in both Tar Heel goals, tallying one goal and one assist. Carolina is currently 10-5-1, with a 2-2-1 league mark.
uete, a redshirt junior redirected the game-winning goal to lift the Terps over No. 6 Clemson 1-0. The native of Bowie, Md., recorded his second goal of the season with 4:17 remaining in the game. With the victory, Maryland improves to 12-3 overall including a 4-1 league mark.
The Tar Heels, who are ranked No. 23 in the latest NSCAA coaches poll, will play at UNC Wilmington tonight in a game that was originally scheduled for Oct. 15 but rescheduled due to rain.
