The North Carolina women's basketball team paid a visit recently to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA, where players spent an hour with kids who participate in the YMCA's after-school program.
Eight Tar Heels (the others were in class) autographed posters then conducted a basketball clinic for a gym-full of hoopsters. Teaching the basics of shooting, passing, dribbling and defense at their stations were La'Tangela Atkinson, Coretta Brown, Carrie Davis, Jenni Laaksonen, Kenya McBee, Jessica Sell, Candace Sutton and Tiffany Tucker.
The Carolina women's basketball team opens the 2002-03 season on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. against Davidson.
