Carolina Waterscapes Co-Student-Athletes Of The Week: Laura Greene and Molly Pyles

Senior outside hitter Laura Greene and sophomore outside hitter Molly Pyles have been named Carolina Waterscapes Co-Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Dec. 2-9. Pyles and Greene each recorded 23 kills vs. South Carolina in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament to send the Tar Heels to their first Sweet 16 in volleyball.

Greene led the Tar Heels defensively in the First Round, a 3-0 win over Winthrop. The senior recorded 19 digs and three crucial blocks. In the Second-Round match, Greene recorded 23 kills and a match-high 21 digs to led her team to a 3-1 victory over the Gamecocks.

Pyles led the Carolina offence vs. the Gamecocks with 23 kills and a .478 hitting percentage with just one error in the match. In the weekend's two matches, she recorded a total of 32 digs.
