Sylvia Hatchell:
On moving Nikki to the point ...
"I felt like as we moved along in the season, we needed stability and roles. Nikki is a fifth-year senior, a great passer and three-point shooter. She has a tremendous knowledge of the game and it has also helped utilize Coretta's talent at the guard. They really compliment each other."
"Our shot selection, rebounding and how we play defensively will be important in this game."
"We like to go up and down the floor but we've been in situations where we had to lower the number of possessions and change the transitions. We have the players that can do it."
On what to do against Vanderbilt's Anderson ...
"Vanderbilt is a different team when she is in the game. We'd like to forcer her into foul trouble but she's smart about fouls, so we will have to limit her touches, contest her shots and up the tempo so that we get her running back and forth. We will also have to control her positioning so that she doesn't get those shots so close to the basket."
"I was sincerely upset Iowa State didn't win the other night. There are some of the greatest fans here I have ever experienced. It's just a tremendous environment and so great for women's basketball."
"I'm not a fan of pre-determined sites. At this level, home court advantage matters. Most of the coaches of the top teams' in this country would pick site over seed if given the choice."
Nikki Teasley: "Point is a comfortable spot for me. I can distribute the basketball pretty well, which is the number one job of a point guard. But I'll take what the defense gives me. If they give me an open shot, I'll take it."
"Today's my birthday and I told my teammates and coaches that I don't want a cake, I don't want a car, I just want to make it to the final four."
"We have to attack them, create the fouls and make them do things they're not use to doing."
"We're playing against the number one team and playing against the best, you only get better."
