The 2002 football season is just around the corner and Tar Heel fans have a number of opportunities to get prepare for the season as well. Following are a list of events and information for Tar Heel fans leading up to the season opener against Miami (Ohio) on August 31st.
More than 31,000 season tickets have been sold, and individual tickets for some games are close to selling out, but Tar Heel fans still have a chance to be a part of all the action. Order your tickets today by calling the UNC Ticket Office at 1-800-722-HEEL.
This is a must-attend event for women who want to learn more about the game of football and the Tar Heels. The event includes a stop at football practice, dinner and a clinic hosted by Dawn and John Bunting.
Here's a great opportunity for all Carolina fans to meet the 2002 Tar Heels. The Kenan Football Center Hall of Honor will be open from 2-3 pm, Kenan Stadium gates open at 3 pm, Woody Durham introduces the team at 3:30 pm and then fans have a chance for autographs and pictures with the Tar Heels. Parking is available in the Bell Tower, Ramshead and Stadium Drive lots.
Are you a youth group leader, or just looking for a great event to bring your kids to? How about taking them to UNC Youth Day for the Miami (OH) football game on August 31. It's the UNC home opener, and tickets are only $10 each for everyone in the group - an $18 discount (groups must be 10 or more people). Kickoff is at 1:30, so it's easy to get your group to Chapel Hill and back home the same day. Call the UNC Ticket Office at 1-800-722-HEEL for more information or download an order form.
