In the second Tar Heel/Tribe match-up, Carolina placed second at the George Washington Invitational, defeating William & Mary, 191.275-190.450. Williams won the vault for the second consecutive meet.
Carolina's last home meet of the 2002 season resulted in a victory over William & Mary and Towson. The winning score of 195.100 topped runner-up William & Mary's 190.550. Tar Heel gymnasts captured first place spots in every event except floor exercises, in which they took second, third, fourth and fifth.
Finally, North Carolina met William & Mary at the NC State Invitational. The Tar Heels championed the meet with a score of 196.150, good enough to beat the other five teams, including William & Mary with a 192.200. The team's vault score of 49.050 set a UNC record.
