WNBA Select Team Takes Second At World Cup

The WNBA Select Team, which included former UNC players Coretta Brown and Nikki Teasley, finished second at the FIBA Women's World Cup in Samara, Russia. The WNBA team fell 72-68 to host Volgaburmash-Samara Sunday in the championship game.
The Select Team battled back from a 20-point deficit in the title game and tied the score at 66-66 with 1:30 remaining, but couldn't pull ahead for the win. Teasley scored 21 points to lead the WNBA squad, despite leaving the game early in the fourth quarter after taking an elbow to the forehead. She returned with 3:31 to play.
