HOMECOMING GAME
FOR JAWAD
The Tar Heels travel to
Cleveland, Ohio, over
Thanksgiving weekend for a 4 p.m.
Saturday afternoon matchup with
Cleveland State of the Horizon
League.
The game is a holiday homecoming
for junior forward Jawad Williams, a Cleveland native who
attended St. Edwards High School in Lakewood.
For many years, UNC coaches have tried to schedule games near
the hometowns of Tar Heel players. Next month, Carolina will play
UNC Wilmington in Myrtle Beach, S.C., as a homecoming game for
sophomore point guard Raymond Felton, a native of Latta, S.C., who
played at Latta High School.
Cleveland State is 2-0 this season, coming off a 97-88 win at
Florida A & M on Tuesday night. The Vikings opened their 2003-04
season on Nov. 22 with a 76-63 win over Central State in Cleveland.
ROADCAST INFO
Saturday's game will be televised regionally by
Raycom/Jefferson-Pilot.
This season, 26 of 27 regular-season Carolina games will be televised
(the lone exception is the Dec. 30 game with Coastal Carolina).
The game also will be broadcast live on radio by the Tar Heel
Sports Network, for which Woody Durham (play-by-play) and Mick
Mixon (analyst) are in their 15th year together calling the action for Carolina Basketball. For the third
straight season, former UNC All-America Phil Ford (analyst) joins Durham and Mixon on the broadcast

OFFENSIVE NUMBERS ARE UP
Carolina scored 90 and 91 points, respectively, in its first two games this season. This is the first time
that UNC has reached 90 points in consecutive games since the 2001-02 season (when Carolina scored 92,
104 and 92 points in wins over St. Joseph's, N.C. A & T and Texas A & M).
Through two games, the Tar Heels are shooting 58.8 percent from the floor as a team (67-for-120), led by
Jawad Williams at 88.2 percent (15 of 17) and Jackie Manuel at 90 percent (9 of 10).
LAST TIME OUT - UNC 91, DAVIDSON 68
Carolina shot better than 50 percent for the second consecutive game and Jawad Williams had a career-high 28 points (on 10 of 11 shooting)
and seven rebounds to lead the Tar Heels to a 91-68 win over Davidson on Nov. 24 in Charlotte. UNC shot 50.8 percent from the floor against the
Wildcats after shooting 60.7 percent in the season opener vs. Old Dominion on Nov. 22.
Sean May had 19 points and seven rebounds against Davidson, while Rashad McCants had 13 points and Melvin Scott 12. Raymond Felton's
12 assists gave him the eighth double-digit assist game of his career (and his fifth in his last eight games dating back to last season).
The Tar Heels forced 27 Davidson turnovers in the game, including 16 in the first half when Carolina jumped out to a 43-25 lead at the break.

Saturday's game will be Carolina's first-ever meeting with Cleveland State.
