Sean May on 3-18 shooting performance in game:
"I was just frustrated mentally and I let it show which is bad on my part. It wasn't my night-we got a lucky win tonight, so we're going to have to put it behind and go on."
"Last time I had such poor performance was my freshman year in high school. My first varsity game I was 3-12 and that was just because I was nervous, but I just struggled tonight. I don't know why shots weren't falling. Coach said I was rushing a little bit and I wasn't trying to hump my shoots and I just couldn't hit anything. My teammates realize that I am a big part of this team and they tried to get me the ball more because they knew that I was a little bit frustrated, but I just couldn't come through. I think you could see what kind of night it was when that last one, a wide open lay-up that Ray left me, I should have just gone up and dunked it, but I tried to lay it in to see where I was and it showed that I wasn't on because I just couldn't put it in. I'm going to just try and put this game behind me and look forward to next week."
Raymond Felton on next game:
"I'm just going to come out and play hard and get ready for our big game on Saturday against Wake forest. If we play like we played today, we're going to get beat by 50 points."
Raymond Felton on Akron's strategy:
"We could have broken down the zone if we would have played our game, played with some heart, with some intensity. It just wasn't there-we weren't running as fast as we could, we weren't playing the best defense that we could, so its not that the zone was effective it was just that we played so terrible."
Melvin Scott on game:
"We've got to take something positive from this. If we watch film and learn, we're going to take something positive from this. I don't think Coach was too happy, because we didn't execute and we weren't really hungry out there. But we just have to learn from it and get back out there."
Rashad McCants on team's performance:
"It comes down to one of those things to where we just weren't hitting any shots. I spent a lot of nights down here working on my shot, it's getting better and better, but tonight it just didn't go in."
