Carolina's Quinn Porter Named ACC Softball Player of the Week

Greensboro, N.C. - Senior Quinn Porter (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference softball Player of the Week this afternoon by the league office. Porter caught fire this weekend at the Buzz Classic hitting .545 with one home run and four RBIs. She ended the weekend with three doubles, one home run and a slugging percentage of 1.091.
Porter began the tournament going 3-for-4, with a double and an RBI versus Harvard. The Wesley Chapel, Fla., native went 1-for-2 against Tennessee Tech with a walk and finished 1-for-2 against Mercer, including the game-winning double to score two runs in the third inning. In her final game, Porter hit her third double of the weekend and finished 1-for-3.
North Carolina will face NC A&T tomorrow in Greensboro, N.C. at 3 p.m. for a single non-conference game. The Tar Heels will then host Appalachian State for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 at the UNC Softball Complex.
