CARLSBAD, Calif.,- Carolina fans have the special opportunity to bid on a 1981 UNC Basketball Team Autographed Ball at the Official Heels Auctions.
Tar Heel fans, here's your chance to own a rare, historic piece of University of North Carolina basketball memorabilia. Up for auction is a 1981 NCAA Finals commemorative basketball signed by the 1980-81 Carolina men's basketball team. The 1980-81 team, coached by the legendary Dean Smith, finished the season 29-8, won the ACC Championship and finished second in the NCAA Finals.
The following signatures appear on the ball: James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Matt Doherty, Al Wood, Jeb Barlow, Jimmy Black, Eric Kenny, Timo Makkonen, Mike Pepper, Chris Brust, Pete Budko, Cecil Exum, Dean Shaffer and Jim Braddock.
The ball does show some slight wear, with two shallow dimples on top and bottom from where the ball was resting on a shelf. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to own a piece of Carolina basketball history!
Proceeds from the auction will benefit UNC Athletics. The auction is part of a nationwide program with College Sports Online, which partners with UNC and nearly 160 university athletic departments and conferences to manage and maintain Official Athletic Sites.
