Men's and Women's Basketball Exhibition Information

An event of national importance happens this week.
Oh sure, there's that little matter of a presidential election. But the real excitement will be in Chapel Hill this week as Carolina's basketball teams kick off their 2004-05 seasons with a pair of exhibition games.
The men open play on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. against Winston-Salem State University. There are two ways for fans to see the game.
First, you can buy tickets (all are general admission) for $10 apiece by calling 1-800-722-HEEL or by purchasing online at TarHeelBlue.com. It is to your advantage to purchase tickets early because lines to buy tickets Friday night will be long, and by buying early you'll bypass the purchasing line, enabling you to get better seats (remember, it's general admission) inside the Smith Center.
The other way to see the game is to subscribe to Carolina All-Access. The game will not be broadcast on the radio, so if you're not inside the Smith Center, this is the only way you'll be able to see or hear the game. The broadcast team of Jones Angell, Eric Montross, and Adam Lucas will provide coverage of every second of the game, beginning with a 10-minute pregame show before tipoff. As an All-Access subscriber, you'll get live video of the game, plus exclusive interviews with players and coaches sprinkled throughout the broadcast. A subscription also enables you to get the radio broadcasts of all regular season games, plus access to press conferences, Roy Williams' radio show, and much more.
The men's second exhibition game--against Mt. Olive next Friday, Nov. 12--will follow the same procedures as above. General admission tickets are available by calling 800-722-HEEL or by purchasing online. No radio broadcast will be available, but a live video broadcast will be available for All-Access subscribers.
The women also tip off the season this week with an exhibition, as they take on EA Sports at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. That game will mark the debut for the new reserved seating in Carmichael Auditorium, a fantastic opportunity for women's season-ticket holders.
When you buy your women's season tickets, you'll get the chance to hand-pick your personal seats at the EA Sports game. Sit in a seat and don't like the angle? No problem, just pick a different one. The select-a-seat event will begin at 5 p.m. and last until tipoff. The reserved seating opportunities are limited, so get there early to reserve the best seats.
If you can't come to the game, you can also buy women's season tickets by calling 800-722-HEEL or by purchasing online.
Women's season ticket purchasers will also receive a free mini-basketball with Tar Heel photos while supplies last.
