Carolina Player Quotes
Sean May
At any point in the second-half, did the words Florida State enter into your mind?
"The only words that entered my mind were what is wrong with us right now; how were we up twenty and they cut it to three. The good thing about it was that we stuck together and we got a good win out of it and we just have to learn from it. I know that you all are probably tired of us saying that, but it is part of it when you have a young team like this. We just have to continue to get better. It is about time that one rolled our way."
Did you see anything different from the team when the lead began to slip away?
"I just think that with guys in foul trouble, Raymond was in foul trouble and he is our primary ball handler, we had a lot of turnovers and they started pressing and that is the thing that bothered us most. Again, we stuck together, Coach Williams riled us up and Rashad hit another big shot, banked one in. Like I said, it was about time that one rolled our way. We had lost three on the last shot of the game."
Rashad McCants
Talk about the game:
"It seems like we still have a lot to change. We have twenty point leads and we just break down so badly. It is so unfortunate, but we still stuck it out and won the game. We still need to fix a lot of things."
Can you talk about the difference in the team today when the lead began to slip away from the past?
"We were hitting shots. Usually when they start making runs we start getting cold and they come all the way back. I think that we answered a little bit of their runs after they started coming back. Their half-court trap was really hard for us once Raymond went out."
Jawad Williams
On Carolina's inside game:
"Yea, that's what we need to do. Me and Sean have been struggling recently, but especially me. We need to get the ball inside, make quick moves, and if not, get to the line."
Do you feel like you personal comfort level is returning?
"I'm just getting more comfortable and trying to work myself back into the flow of the game. As every game and every practice goes on, hopefully I get a little bit better."
