Jacque Lewis on UNC running game
"We had a great camp as far as running the ball. We knew that today we would have to come out and help our offense run the ball and that's what we did"
Jacque Lewis on this fumble
"I was trying to score and when I cut it back I wasn't really taking care of the ball. But, after that I put it out of my mind and picked things up from there and tried to go forward."
Jacque Lewis on fourth quarter performance
"We work all offseason to play in the fourth quarter. That's the reason we do all of our conditioning and workouts. It's all about the fourth quarter. We try to beat our opponents out in the fourth quarter and that's what we did."
Jacque Lewis on the defense
"We were behind our defense the whole time. We know we have to put up points. That's what we're out here to do. There's not a shootout or anything. We just hope our defense can pick it up and they did. We all just came out and kept playing hard."
Jason Brown on the offensive line's run protection
"Our goal is to produce a thousand-yard back this year and at this rate we're going for two. Regardless, one is good enough for me."
Jason Brown on halftime
"There was no slander going on in the locker room. We still had faith in our talents and abilities. We knew that we had to come out strong in the second half. There was no doubt. Of course there was a lot of frustration coming from the first half with the adversity of four turnovers. We went over it in camp. Coach Bunting went over the percentages. With four turnovers there's a 15 percent chance that you have a possibility to win. Overcoming that type of adversity shows our mental toughness and mental focus to go out there and execute"
Adarius Bowman on his role this season
"I didn't know it was going to turn out this way when the year started. But, now I see I'm going to have a lot of chances to get the ball and I'm just going to try and make plays out of them"
Adarius Bowman on William and Mary's focus on Jarwarski Pollock
"A lot of guys were talking junk to him. Like, `not today Pollock,' and things like that. Coverage wise, I didn't notice any special attention being paid to him."
Darian Durant on Ronnie McGill's comeback
"He's a beast. We call him manchild because to be so young and so powerful is not a common combination. Today's performance says a lot for him."
Darian Durant on first half turnovers
"Things like that are going to happen in first games. I'm just glad we've got it out of the way now so we can focus on Virginia and try to eliminate those mistakes."
Darian Durant on his role in the huddle
"I've been through stuff like this before, with turnovers, getting down, and getting backed up. I just wanted to keep the guys calm in the huddle. I just wanted to let them know that we can overcome all these things if we just stay focused."
Ronnie McGill on his injured hip pointer
"I just went in and the trainers told me it would be alright and gave me some treatment and then I came back out. I didn't expect it to start hurting a second time, but it did so I came back to the locker room. The way it felt the second time I thought I was just going to be cheering the rest of the game. But, I got on the bike and warmed it up a little bit to where it felt good. Then, the fourth quarter came and they put me in. This is my first hip pointer and it hurt a whole lot. I give credit to all the people who make it through."
Ronnie McGill the running game
"It feels good. But, the total offense was the key. Jacque had over a 120 yards too. We just have to give credit to the offensive line and keep doing what we're doing. We had plans of coming into the game and running it. But, in the first half we came out and were passing a lot. When we went into the locker room at halftime and coach said we were going to pound it in the second half so that's what we did."
