Late Night With Roy Williams Set For October 14

The 2005-06 University of North Carolina men's basketball team will kick off the defense of its 2005 NCAA championship at Late Night with Roy Williams on Friday, October 14 at the Dean Smith Center.
The event will be hosted by former Tar Heel national player of the year Kenny Smith and carried live on Carolina All-Access on TarHeelBlue.com.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the Carolina volleyball team will host Georgia Tech at 6:30 p.m. Late Night activities will commence following the conclusion of the volleyball match. Please note that the men's basketball activities will begin earlier than in years past, so fans are encouraged to arrive early.
Admission is free, and seating will be general admission. A limited number of parking spots will cost $5.00 in the lots adjacent to the Smith Center. Chapel Hill Transit park and ride buses will begin running from the Friday Center and University Mall at 6:30 p.m.
Late Night activities after the volleyball match will include a women's basketball scrimmage, men's basketball skits and dancing and a men's basketball scrimmage. In addition, the 2005 NCAA championship banner will be unveiled in the Smith Center rafters.
The Tar Heels went 33-4 in 2004-05 and won their fourth NCAA championship with a 75-70 win over No. 1-ranked Illinois in the title game in St. Louis. Carolina went 14-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season, winning the regular season ACC championship.
