CHAPEL HILL -- Jawad Williams has committed to play for the Golden State Warriors in the Las Vegas Summer League, his agent, Jim Naughton said on Thursday.

Williams was not selected in Tuesday night's 2005 NBA Draft and is a free agent. He has not signed a contract with the Warriors, but the team has made a commitment for him to play on its roster in the Las Vegas League.

The summer league runs from July 8-15 and is comprised of 16 teams. Williams worked out individually before the draft for 10 of the 16 teams.

The team will pay Williams per diem and lodging while he is playing for the Warriors in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Jackie Manuel's agent, Derrick Powell, said Thursday he is talking with several teams and should know something about Jackie's future plans the next week or so. Manuel is returning to Chapel Hill to rehabilitate a foot injury he suffered in the Chicago pre-draft camp.
