RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina outfielder Seth Williams, a member of the Asheboro Copperheads, was selected to play in the Coastal Plain League All-Star Game, which is scheduled for Tuesday at Fleming Stadium in Wilson, N.C.
Williams, a member of the American squad for the game, is batting .304 (31-102) in 29 games with two home runs and 12 runs batted in. He has added 17 runs scored and has stolen seven bases in eight attempts.
On the mound, he has made five appearances, including one start, and is 0-1 with a 2.00 earned run average. Williams has struck out four in nine innings of work.
Williams is the second Tar Heel to earn a spot in a summer league all-star game, as classmate Reid Fronk started the Northwoods All-Star Game last week.
