Tar Heels Open Season At No. 2 In Coaches' Poll

CHAPEL HILL -- The University of North Carolina men's basketball team was ranked No. 2 in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll, released on Friday.
Defending NCAA champion Florida received all 30 first-place votes and takes the top spot in the poll with 772 total points. Carolina was second with 728 points, followed by No. 3 Kansas (714), No. 4 Ohio State (595) and No. 5 Pittsburgh (583) and UCLA (583).
The rest of the top 10 includes No. 7 LSU, No. 8 Georgetown, No. 9 Wisconsin and No. 10 Arizona. Other Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked include No. 11 Duke, No. 15 Boston College and No. 21 Georgia Tech.
