NBA Update: Week 15

Two former Tar Heels have been selected to participate in the 2006 NBA All-Star game this Sunday, February 19. Both Vince Carter and Rasheed Wallace will play for the Eastern Conference team. This weekend will mark Carter's seventh All-Star appearance, while Wallace will make his third. Coverage for this year's game, hosted by the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, will begin at 8:00 pm (EST) on TNT.
Fans can also catch three former Tar Heels in a nationally televised game on Wednesday night when the Washington Wizards' Antawn Jamison and Brendan Haywood travel to Dallas to face Jerry Stackhouse and the Mavericks. Coverage begins on ESPN at 9:00 pm (EST).
Update on Former Tar Heels in the NBA:
Vince Carter, New Jersey Nets - Started at guard and led the team in scoring in all three games. He scored 24 points and had five assists in the Nets' 94-79 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Carter also scored 21 points, handed out six assists, and grabbed six rebounds against the San Antonio Spurs. The Nets return to action tonight against the Detroit Pistons.
Raymond Felton, Charlotte Bobcats - Started at guard in all three games. He scored a team-high 16 points, handed out three assists, and had three steals against the Portland Trail Blazers. Felton also dished out eight assists and grabbed six rebounds in a 14-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday night when they host the New Jersey Nets.
Brendan Haywood, Washington Wizards - Started at center in all four games. He recorded his sixth double-double of the year with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the Wizards' 101-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Haywood led the team in rebounds in three of four games in week 15. The Wizards return to action on Wednesday night against the Dallas Mavericks. Coverage begins on ESPN at 9:00 pm.
Antawn Jamison, Washington Wizards - Started at forward in all four games. He recorded his 25th double-double of the season, the seventh most in the league, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. Jamison also dropped 28 points in the Wizards' 101-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Wizards return to action on Wednesday night against the Dallas Mavericks. Coverage begins on ESPN at 9:00 pm.
Sean May, Charlotte Bobcats - Missed week 15 due to knee injury. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on January 19.
Rashad McCants, Minnesota Timberwolves - Played guard in all four games. He scored eight points and had an assist and a rebound against the Toronto Raptors. The Timberwolves return to action when they host the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday night.
Jeff McInnis, New Jersey Nets - Missed week 15 due to knee injury. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on January 19 to remove torn cartilage. McInnis suffered the injury in the Nets' game against the Dallas Mavericks on January 14.
Jerry Stackhouse, Dallas Mavericks - Played forward in all four games. He scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds, and handed out four assists against the Denver Nuggets. Stackhouse currently ranks ninth overall in free-throw percentage in the NBA, shooting 88.5 percent from the line. The Mavericks return to action on Wednesay night when they host the Washington Wizards. Coverage begins on ESPN at 9:00 pm.
Rasheed Wallace, Detroit Pistons - Started at forward in all four games. He scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Pistons' 84-73 victory over the Orlando Magic. In the same game, Wallace knocked down a season-high five shots from behind the three-point arc. He currently ranks ninth in the NBA in three-point field goals made with 104. The Pistons return to action tonight against the New Jersey Nets.
Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks - Played forward in all three games. He scored 11 points, dished out three assists, and grabbed two rebounds against the Sacramento Kings. He also grabbed a season-high nine defensive rebounds against the Seattle SuperSonics. The Hawks return to action Wednesday night when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers.
