Tar Heels' Game At Oregon Cancelled

CHAPEL HILL -- The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team's season-opening game versus Oregon has been cancelled, head coach Jenny Levy announced on Friday morning. The game was scheduled to be played on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. PT at the Nike Complex in Beaverton, Ore.
Tar Heels' Friday morning flight to the west coast was cancelled and the team was unable to secure flight arrangements that would have allowed it to reach Portland in time for the game. The game could be rescheduled for a later date in the spring but details are not yet available.
Carolina will now open its 2006 season next Friday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. versus Temple at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill.
