Chapel Hill, N.C. ----- The University of North Carolina held its annual Pro Timing Day on Tuesday with representatives from all 32 National Football League teams in attendance. Twelve seniors from the 2005 Tar Heel football team participated in the drills, which included workouts in the Kenan Football Center weight room and drills in the Eddie Smith Indoor Facility.
Twelve of Carolina's 2005 seniors participated in the event, including safety Mahlon Carey, fullback Rikki Cook, defensive end Tommy Davis, cornerback Cedrick Holt, linebacker Jeff Longhany, wide receiver Derrele Mitchell, defensive tackle Chase Page, wide receiver Jarwarski Pollock, offensive lineman Kyle Ralph, linebacker Tommy Richardson, defensive back Linwood Williams and wide receiver Wallace Wright.
Several Tar Heels had outstanding efforts in the weight room, led by Davis, who benched 225 pounds a team-high 34 times. The next closest was Page at 28. Davis earned honorable-mention All-ACC honors in 2005 with 40 tackles, 10 tackles for losses and eight sacks. He also set school records in the bench press, power clean and squat by a defensive end.

"I know many of these scouts and assistant coaches from my days in the NFL. I know what they're looking for. It was my pleasure to get in front of them and tell them what kind of character these kids have. All of them have dreams and I'd like to help those dreams come true."

"I just want to do the best I can," said Davis. "Overall, I was pleased and now I just have to wait and see what will happen."
Others excelled in the workouts at the indoor track facility, including Holt and Pollock who each posted 40-yard dash times under 4.4. Players also ran the pro agility drill, the long shuttle and the L-drill. Scouts then took several players aside for individual testing and position specific drills.
Baker, who has been training in Bradenton, Fla., with IMG's Football Camp, was pleased with his efforts.
"I thought I did well today," said Baker. "I was a little tired throwing the ball near the end, but overall I was happy with my performance. Hopefully, a couple of teams will bring me in for a closer look. My goal is to get on a roster any way possible."
The day began with Bunting, a former NFL player and assistant coach, addressing the throng of scouts in attendance.
"I know many of these scouts and assistant coaches from my days in the NFL," said Bunting. "I know what they're looking for. It was my pleasure to get in front of them and tell them what kind of character these kids have. All of them have dreams and I'd like to help those dreams come true."
