April 25, 2006
A significant collection of sports memorabilia plus one-of-a-kind personal experiences with Tar Heel legends highlights the second annual Reece Holbrook Golf Classic auction.
All proceeds from the auction, which will be held Sunday evening, April 30, at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Farrington Road in Chapel Hill, benefit Reece Holbrook and the pediatric oncology department at UNC Hospital. An over 50-item silent auction begins at 6:30 p.m. and the live auction--hosted by Woody Durham--begins promptly at 8 p.m. The festive evening includes a catered meal and performances by Triangle favorite Liquid Pleasure. A limited number of auction tickets, which cost $25, are available by contacting Stephanie Williams.
Headline items in the live auction include one of the last 2005 Carolina team-signed basketballs to be made available to the public, a game-used chair from the Smith Center team bench signed by Dean Smith and Roy Williams, and several other one-of-a-kind items. The live auction will also feature the opportunity for bidders to win 18 holes of golf the next day with Roy Williams, Dean Smith, Woody Durham, or Eric Montross. And if you're a golfer, you'll also want to consider bidding on a one-of-a-kind golf package that includes roundtrip airfare, two rooms for two nights at the Inn at Spanish Bay, and golf for four players at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and The Links at Spanish Bay.
Silent auction items include numerous items from major league baseball and Carolina Panthers stars plus game-worn shoes from the rookie seasons of Sean May and Raymond Felton.
A full auction catalog is available by clicking here. Even more items will be added this week, so make plans now to attend the auction on Sunday night. Send an email for more auction or RHGC information.
