Fans Can Bid On Final Four Autographs

Women's basketball fans can bid on a bit of history from the 2006 Final Four and help Habitat for Humanity in the process.
The NCAA is auctioning four commemorative silver Wilson leather basketballs embossed with the 2006 NCAA Women's Final Four logo and signed by the four head coaches who led their teams to Boston - Gail Goestenkors of Duke, Pokey Chatman of LSU, Brenda Frese of Maryland and Sylvia Hatchell of North Carolina.
Submit your bid at http://auctions.ncaasports.com/. The auction closes on May 3. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Also available for auction is a commemorative silver Wilson leather basketball embossed with the Women's 25th Anniversary logo and autographed by some of the greatest athletes to have played in the past 25 years as well as legendary Tennessee coach Pat Summitt. Player who have signed the ball are Bridgette Gordon of Tennessee, Chamique Holdsclaw of Tennessee, Cheryl Miller of Southern California, Sheryl Swoopes of Texas Tech and Diana Taurasi of Connecticut.
The NCAA and Habitat for Humanity International have formed a three-year partnership called the "Home Team" in an effort to raise funds and provide volunteer labor to assist in the long-term rebuilding efforts in the Gulf coast areas devastated by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) was one of the first to join the NCAA's fundraising and rebuilding efforts. The NCAA and the national office have pledged a total of $2.5 million to the "Home Team" Partnership.
