FSN South will debut on Tuesday May 9 a half-hour conversation series - IN MY OWN WORDS, spotlighting well known sports personalities. In the series' second episode, North Carolina coach Roy Williams go one-on-one with FSN college basketball analyst Larry Conley.
The show will air on May 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET, across portions of FSN South's territory. For those portions of North Carolina getting the MLB Baltimore Orioles game at 7 p.m., the IN MY OWN WORDS episode will re-air at 10:30 p.m.
Future episodes will draw from the big four sports of football, basketball, baseball and hockey and will also include golf and tennis legends as well as prominent sports writers and broadcasters.
The series, which initially highlights five nationally prominent college basketball coaches, features intimate conversations with these men about their personal journeys through the world of college basketball. The shows are not of a question-and-answer interview format but are created so that the featured guests can reveal their true personalities and deliver glimpses inside their careers as can only be seen through their eyes.
Williams shares about the amazing run his young squad enjoyed in 2006, after his veteran team won the '05 NCAA title; about his return "home" to Chapel Hill following a remarkable coaching run at Kansas; and about the inspiration he has drawn from his mentor, former Tar Heel coaching icon Dean Smith.
