The North Carolina Tar Heel softball team will open its exhibition schedule Sunday as it heads to Conway, S.C., for its first two games of the fall season.
UNC-Wilmington will be the first challenger up for Carolina, which won a school-record 48 games last season. The first pitch is scheduled for noon Sunday, and that game will be followed by a 2:30 p.m. tilt in which the Tar Heels will take on host Coastal Carolina.
This weekend's games mark the first two of a total of six contests North Carolina will play this fall. The Tar Heels will also host two home contests as part of the Carolina Fall Classic, which will take place Oct. 7 in Chapel Hill, and will play two games Oct. 8 in Raleigh, N.C. at the Wolfpack Invitational.
