Wright Named ACC Rookie Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia's Sean Singletary and Duke's Josh McRoberts were named as Co-ACC Players of the Week, while North Carolina's Brandan Wright was tabbed ACC Rookie of the Week.
In earning the league's rookie award for the fourth time this season, Wright averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds and hit on 16-of-19 from the floor (.842) as the second-ranked Tar Heels posted wins over Rutgers and Dayton. The Nashville, Tenn., product had 19 points, seven rebounds and three blocks versus Rutgers and 16 points, six rebounds and a block against Dayton.
Singletary scored 13 of the Cavaliers' first 15 points and finished with game-high totals of 33 points and six assists in Virginia's 91-70 victory over American University on Dec. 28. The Philadelphia, Pa., junior was nine-of-16 from the field and 10-of-10 from the line.
McRoberts had 15 points, a career-high 17 rebounds, five assists and three steals in the Blue Devils' 70-51 win over San Jose State on Dec. 31. Over his last three games, the Carmel, Ind., sophomore is averaging 15.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 4.0 blocks and 2.3 steals per game.
