NBA Update: Week 12

Update on former Tar Heels in the NBA:
Vince Carter, New Jersey Nets- Started all four games for the Nets as they went 3-1 on the week. The Nets won their first three games of the week as Carter went for 26 over the Bobcats, 16 over the Knicks, and 27 over the Magic. Monday night's 88-87 loss in Sacramento snapped a 4-game win streak as Carter only had 8 points- his lowest point output of the season. It was also the first time he failed to reach double figures this year. The Nets are in first in the Atlantic Division with a 20-21 record, a half game better than the Raptors.
Raymond Felton, Charlotte Bobcats- Started in two of four games for the Bobcats as they went 2-2 on the week. Felton missed the middle two games of the week with a sprained ankle. The Bobcats came away with wins in each of those games beating the Hawks twice. Before injuring his ankle, Felton had 18 points in a loss to the Nets. He returned to the starting lineup on Monday night in the Bobcats' 105-84 loss to the Raptors. Felton had 19 points on 6 of 14 shooting (4-9 3FG) and 8 assists. The Bobcats are now 14-26 on the season.
Brendan Haywood, Washington Wizards- Started all three games for the Wizards who went 3-0 on the week by beating the Knicks, Magic, and Celtics. His most productive night came on Saturday where he had 12 points and 7 rebounds against the Celtics. On Wednesday night, he pulled down 13 rebounds- his second highest on the season. Haywood is averaging 6.7 ppg and 6.9 rpg this year.
Antawn Jamison, Washington Wizards- Started all three games for the Wizards. His week was highlighted by a 31 point and season-high 16 rebound performance in a win at He also had 21 points against the Knicks and 23 against the Celtics. Jamison is averaging 19.2 ppg and 8.3 rpg this season and his Wizards are in first place in the Southeast Division with a 24-16 record.
Sean May, Charlotte Bobcats- Missed all four games of the week as he experienced pain in his surgically repaired right knee. On the season, May is averaging 11.6 ppg and 6.8 rpg.
Rashad McCants, Minnesota Timberwolves- Recovering from microfracture surgery on his right knee. Reports indicate he will resume full-scale practices this week and could be ready to play in the coming week.
Jeff McInnis, Charlotte Bobcats- Started in two of four games for the Bobcats as he replaced the injured Felton at point guard in the starting lineup for two games. In his two starts, he averaged 13.5 points and 6 assists in two wins over the Hawks.
David Noel, Milwaukee Bucks- Played in all three games for the Bucks who went 0-3 on the week. His best contribution came Wednesday as he scored 8 points in 13 minutes of action in a 99-72 loss at Seattle. He played at least 13 minutes in all three games and is averaging 10.2 mpg this season. The Bucks are 17-23 thus far.
Jerry Stackhouse, Dallas Mavericks- Played in all three games for the Mavericks who went 3-0 this past week. In wins over the Rockets and Lakers, Stackhouse had 13 and 11 points respectively. Sunday featured a rematch of last year's NBA Finals at Miami and Stackhouse matched his season-high scoring 23 points off the bench as the Mavs won 99-93. On the year, he is averaging 10.8 ppg off the bench and the Mavericks have the NBA's best record at 34-8.
Rasheed Wallace, Detroit Pistons- Started all three games for the Pistons who went 2-1 on the week. In the lone loss of the week against the Jazz, Wallace had 11 points and 6 rebounds. He rebounded from the loss with a win over the Timberwolves as he had 18 points and 9 rebounds. Wallace is averaging 11.9 ppg and 8.4 rpg this season.
Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks- Started all three games for the Hawks as they went 1-2 on the week. The lone win came over the Timberwolves in Minnesota. Williams had 7 points and a season-high 10 rebounds in that outing. He recorded another good game at Charlotte with 20 points and 5 rebounds, but the Hawks were denied a victory, 104-85. Williams is averaging 11.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg this season.
Shammond Williams, Los Angeles Lakers- Did not see any action for the Lakers on the week.
