Senior linebacker Durell Mapp
On coming off of the bye week: "It treated us pretty good; we got a lot of things done. A lot people getting healthy who were banged up."
On Wake Forest:
"Not really a complicated team, they do what they do well. We had a good week so it did help us prepare, but we just have to do what we do. A road win will give us some confidence, we don't have a road win yet...so it would definitely give us some confidence."
On making a push for the last five games:
"To win all of these games and get bowl eligible. That is what we are really shooting for, to win all of these games."
On the absence of Kendric Williams and now Jermaine Strong at cornerback:
"I mean we always pride ourselves on having great depth. We have great depth, so we are not too worried about that. We have a bunch of great wide receivers and the backups go against those guys everyday, it shouldn't be that hard to adapt."
Sophomore wide receiver Hakeem Nicks
On the challenge of Wake Forest:
"They are a great team and very athletic. I feel like we can compete with them, you know we just have to not have as many mental errors and turnovers, just go out there and play our game."
On the progression of the wide receivers:
"Our receiving corps is getting better everyday, we practice hard and practice catching passes from the quarterbacks after practice. We need some big plays earlier in the game, rather than later in the game. I think are receiving corps has done pretty good."
On Boston College's success of throwing on Wake Forest, can the Tar Heels:
"Yes, I think we can throw on this team. You have to run routes precise and get with the quarterback practicing, and when Saturday comes just play the game."
On the impact of a road win:
"It would give us a lot of confidence, we just know what we have to do now. We just have to work on finishing and getting it all together."
Freshman wide receiver Greg Little
On the importance of a win against Wake Forest:
"Well you know they definitely have turned the corner and won five in a row. I feel like we these last five games we can do the same thing, if they can do it I know we can. I win on the road against a great team like Wake Forest would be just tremendous for our program."
On the vulnerability of Wake Forest:
"They definitely have some young guys playing right now and an aggressive secondary. I think our coaches will exploit that and Coach Shoop is great at exploiting all the ins and outs of a team's defense. You should see some spectacular plays this weekend."
On the Tar Heels' ability to turn the season around:
"We can start now, we know the little things are hurting us right now. Just the penalties and the turnovers are hurting us. When it comes a time to make a play somebody has got to make it. We can't have long foul balls, big plays that we should of made, we have to hit those."
On the receiving corps:
"Hakeem has not been here too long, but he shows leadership. The quality that I like in him and Brandon, is they have electricity when they touch the ball. Brooks is just like the silent killer, he doesn't talk much but he gets the job done. I think he is a go-to guy, he doesn't drop the ball much. T.J. just knows Brooks is going to be open, he gets open every single play."
