Ellington Named ACC Co-Player Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Clemson's K.C. Rivers and North Carolina's Wayne Ellington were named Co-ACC Players of the Week on Monday, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced.
Ellington averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds as the top-ranked Tar Heels recorded two non-league road wins. The Wynnewood, Pa., sophomore, had 23 points and eight rebounds in a 65-55 win over Ohio State Wednesday night in Columbus and 18 points and three rebounds in Saturday's 86-77 win at Kentucky. Ellington was 14-of-31 (45.1) from the field in the two games and did not commit a turnover in 32 minutes of playing.
Rivers averaged 21.0 points and 10.0 rebounds as the 18th-ranked Tigers posted a pair of non-conference home victories last week. The Charlotte, N.C., junior had his second career "double-double" with 18 points and 12 rebounds in a 61-58 win over Purdue Tuesday and a season-high 24 points and eight rebounds in Saturday's 85-74 victory over South Carolina.
