RALEIGH, N.C. --- North Carolina (25-1) makes its annual trip to the state capital when the Tar Heels travel to Raleigh to face NC State Friday night at 7 p.m. Carolina is coming off an 80-59 win at Florida State on Monday. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 2 in the nation in both polls for the 15th straight week. NC State is 18-8 after a 69-62 loss at Georgia Tech on Sunday afternoon. The Wolfpack is unranked.

• North Carolina is 34-48 all-time against NC State, including a 9-25 mark in Raleigh. UNC has, however, won five in a row at Reynolds Coliseum.
• NC State's last win in the series came during the 2003-04 season, when the Wolfpack won 62-54 in Chapel Hill.
• UNC has won seven straight in the series, its longest such streak. NC State won 19 in a row from 1976-1981.

CHAPEL HILL (AP) --- Ivory Latta scored 20 points and made six 3-pointers to lead No. 2 North Carolina past North Carolina State 86-65. Camille Little had 19 points for the Tar Heels, who remained one of the nation's last unbeaten teams - along with top-ranked Duke.
SCOUTING NC STATE
• NC State is led in scoring by Shayla Fields (10.1 ppg) and Khadijah Whittington (10.0).
• Whittington is also NC State's leading rebounder, with 10.4 boards per game.
• The Wolfpack is 5-1 since head coach Kay Yow returned to the bench.
