NBA Update: Midseason Report

Update on former Tar Heels in the NBA:
Vince Carter, New Jersey Nets- Has started all 54 games for the Nets this season and is averaging 24.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, and 4.5 apg. Carter has played the fourth-most minutes thus far (2049) and he has connected on 102 three-point field goals- the 11th best mark in the NBA. He was also selected to his eighth All-Star game this past Sunday in Las Vegas where he served as a reserve and scored seven points. At the break, the Nets sit in second place in the Atlantic Division behind the Raptors at 25-29 and own the Eastern Conference's ninth-best mark.
Raymond Felton, Charlotte Bobcats- Has started in 47 of 49 games this season for the Bobcats and is averaging 14.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and 7.5 apg. A year removed from his rookie season, his averages are up from last year as he averaged 11.9 ppg and 5.6 apg. He's also averaging more minutes per game at 37.8 rather than 30. At the break, the Bobcats are in last place in the Southeast Division and 12th in the East at 19-33. They won 26 games all of last year.
Brendan Haywood, Washington Wizards- Has started in 29 of 49 games this season for the Wizards and is averaging 7.1 ppg and 7.0 rpg. He has reached double-figures in rebounding on 10 different occasions and has had six double-doubles. At the break, the Wizards are 29-21 and are third in the East. The Wizards own a 3.5 game lead in the Southeast Division over the Magic.
Antawn Jamison, Washington Wizards- Has started 44 of 44 games this season for the Wizards and is averaging 19.3 ppg, 7.9 rpg, and 1.9 apg. Jamison has not played since late January after he sprained his left knee in a win over the Pistons. He has missed six games and the Wizards are 2-4 in that stretch.
Sean May, Charlotte Bobcats- Has started 6 of 32 games this season for the Bobcats and is averaging 11.5 ppg, 6.7 rpg, and 1.9 apg. He has missed 20 games this season with a knee injury including 10 straight. In the 32 games he has played, he has managed double-figures in 16 of them including five double-doubles.
Rashad McCants, Minnesota Timberwolves- Has played in eight games for the Timberwolves this season and is averaging 4.6 ppg. McCants had double-figures in scoring in three of those games. He missed the first 44 games of the season while recovering from microfracture surgery on his right knee. At the break, Minnesota is 25-27 and is in third place in the Northwest Division and eighth in the West.
Jeff McInnis, Charlotte Bobcats- Started 2 of 21 games this season for the Bobcats and is averaging 4.5 ppg, 1.8 rpg, and 3.6 apg. Charlotte acquired him earlier in the season by a trade with the New Jersey Nets. With Brevin Knight hurt a majority of the season, McInnis has served as Felton's primary backup at point guard. Since his arrival, the Bobcats are 10-11.
David Noel, Milwaukee Bucks- Has played in 40 of 53 games this season for the Bucks and is averaging 2.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg, and 0.8 apg. In those contests, he is averaging slightly over 9.5 minutes a game. At the break, the Bucks are 19-34 and have the fourth-worst record in the NBA.
Jerry Stackhouse, Dallas Mavericks- Has started 8 of 42 games this season for the Mavericks and is averaging 11.1 ppg, 2.3 rpg, and 2.2 apg. At the break, Dallas is 44-9 and owns the best record in the NBA.
Rasheed Wallace, Detroit Pistons- Has started 47 of 49 games this season for the Pistons and is averaging 12.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg, and 1.7 apg. He has recorded nine double-doubles this year and has hit 64 three-point field goals on 35 percent shooting from beyond the arc. At the break, the Pistons are 32-19 and own the best record in the East.
Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks- Has started 34 of 35 games this season for the Hawks and is averaging 11.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, and 1.9 apg. Williams missed the first 17 games of the year with a broken left wrist. He has recorded double-figures in 20 of the 35 games this year. At the break, the Hawks are 21-31 and are 10th in the East.
Shammond Williams, Los Angeles Lakers- Has seen action in 11 games this season for the Lakers and is averaging 0.5 ppg, 0.7 rpg, and 0.6 apg. At the break, the Lakers are 30-24 and are sixth in the West.
