The North Carolina Tar Heel softball team returns home this weekend to host its second tournament of 2007, the Tar Heel Invitational. Carolina (9-8) hasn't played a game at Anderson Stadium since it opened the season with the Carolina Classic, a span of almost three weeks - during which time head coach Donna J. Papa picked up her historic 800th win.
The eight-team field at the Tar Heel Invitational is split into two divisions for pool play, which begins Friday morning, while bracket play will begin on Saturday afternoon and continue Sunday. Appalachian State, Fairfield and Rutgers find themselves in Carolina's pool while Liberty, Marshall, Princeton and Rhode Island comprise the second pool.
All games will be held at the UNC softball complex and admission is free. For more information check out the Tournament Central page.
